Dr Cathryn Charnell-White, Head of Welsh at Aberystwyth University, specialises in regional and national identities in eighteenth-century Wales, as well as Early Modern weather literature and Welsh women's poetry. She is editor of a comprehensive anthology of Welsh-language women's poetry, Beirdd Ceridwen: Blodeugerdd Barddas o Ganu Menywod hyd tua 1800 (2005).
